On 14 May 2026, the partners of the Erasmus+ project YOUFIN: Financial Empowerment for Youth Migrants and Refugees gathered in Braga, Portugal, for the official Kick-off Meeting (KoM) of the project, hosted by APIDI.
The meeting brought together representatives from Zone Femmes and Arrabal-AID, marking the beginning of a new European cooperation focused on promoting financial literacy, inclusion, and empowerment among young migrants and refugees.
Throughout the day, the partners discussed the overall objectives of the project, management and communication strategies, dissemination plans, and the timeline of upcoming activities. The consortium also exchanged experiences and good practices related to youth inclusion, financial education, and support for young people with migrant and refugee backgrounds.
The YOUFIN project aims to equip young migrants and refugees with essential financial skills and competences, supporting their social inclusion and autonomy through non-formal education methodologies, practical learning activities, and intercultural cooperation. The future project activities will focus on topics such as budgeting, financial planning, responsible spending, entrepreneurship, and access to economic opportunities.
The Kick-off Meeting also provided an opportunity for the partners to strengthen their cooperation, define responsibilities, and establish a common vision for the successful implementation of the project over the coming months.
Through this initiative, the partnership reaffirms its commitment to building more inclusive communities and creating opportunities for young people to actively participate in society with greater confidence and independence.
